About the club

Club History

Bicester BlueFins was formed in 1950 and celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2000. The Club is affiliated to the ASA South East Region and the Oxfordshire & North Buckinghamshire ASA. The Club has been based at the Bicester Leisure Centre since 1971.

Competitive Blue Fins

Bicester Blue Fins SC competes in many Open Galas at all levels throughout Oxfordshire & North Buckinghamshire as well as those further afield. As a team the Club is currently in the following leagues:

  • The National Arena Swimming League (West Midlands) - Division 3 South
  • The Milton Keynes & District Junior Swimming League (a.k.a. the Diddy League) - Division 2
  • The Home Counties League

Learning to Swim

The Club also runs swimming lessons for beginners following the National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) developed by the ASA. Swimming Lessons are run broadly in line with the Oxfordshire LEA school terms.

  • NPTS Stages 1 to 6 - Saturday 09:10 to 09:55
  • NPTS Stages 7 to 10 - Friday 17:30 to 18:30
