NewsBBF Fun Gala - 12 July 5:30pm-8:00pmTo celebrate our return to the Bicester pool and have a bit of competitive fun as a club, Bicester Blue Fins are holding a Fun Gala and Activity evening, featuring fun races in water, a bouncy castle out of water and a bit of food.
Assistant coach stepping downIt is with regret that we have to inform you that Steph will be stepping down as Assistant Head Coach at Bicester Blue Fins. Steph has taken an opportunity to further develop her coaching career at City of Oxford Swimming Club, where she will be working for two hours a week with their Great Britain coach, as well as coaching her own squad. This is clearly a great opportunity for Steph and we all wish her well. I know this was not an easy decision for her and we will all miss her. Steph’s last day will be Tuesday 21st July.
After some discussions amongst the committee, we believe this would be an opportunity to advertise once again for a Head Coach. This was last done at the end of 2007 but without success. While we undertake this process, Jill Hopkins will continue as our Assistant Head Coach and as such will be the main coach for all our squads. We will also continue to be assisted by our enthusiastic and experienced team of volunteer coaches in Brian Wiggins, Gill Cadle and Caroline Fowler.

Diddy League Round 1 - ResultsClick here for the results.Swimmers' times on the website - an apologySwimmers' times are not up-to-date on the website. This is because we have changed software from RANX to HyTek Team Manager for recording the results on the club laptop and the webmaster has not yet completed the new data upload facility.
This will be happening shortly, but rest assured the results are being recorded.
Please note also that swimmers/parents are ultimately responsible for keeping note of their own results and times.
Reminder about Open Meet entriesPlease could parents - when submitting entries to open meets - provide 1 cheque per meet, rather than a consolidated payment covering several different meets. It would also be helpful to write on the back of the cheque what the payment is for, eg swimmer(s), meet, number of entries. Thank you Please Read: Responsibilites during training. You are reminded that Bicester Blue Fins swimming coaches and helpers are only responsible for swimmers during training sessions whilst they are on poolside or in the pool.
Please note this does not include the changing rooms where responsibility lies with parents/guardians.
Thank you for your co-operation |
